Picture the Past


	Teaming up with the Poquoson Museum and the Poquoson Historical Commission, the library is creating a digital archive of historic photos for the public to enjoy. Winter Reading Club


	January 15^th through March 2^nd Children, birth to 12 years, are invited to join First Dog, Bo, in our Winter Reading Club! There’s no better way to spend a cold winter’s evening than snuggling down with a good book. You may read alone, together, or have someone read to you. NEW Music Downloads


	Register for your account at the library then download two songs per week by clicking the icon on the left. The music is free and yours to keep! You will need a library card in good standing and an email address to register.

Need a Job? It's a SNAP


	Thursdays, 10:00 AM to noon Feb 23^rd,Mar 22^nd,Apr 26^th, OR May 24^th PPL has been designated as a Peninsula Worklink SHARE Network Access Point (SNAP) center to help job seekers. SNAP centers are community-based organizations where people can go to look for jobs, assisted by trained individuals. Are you unemployed or interested in looking for a new career? Join us for this class and learn how to register and use Virginia's powerful employment website to access job listings, career services, resume assistance, etc. Pre-register at the library's website or the Circulation Desk.


	Find it Virginia is a collection of databases that provide free 24/7 access to resources such as newspapers, magazine and journal articles, and books such as encyclopedias. Materials are available for all age ranges and interests.

SeniorNavigator Center


	Poquoson Public Library has become a SeniorNavigator Center which combines the Internet with volunteers to provide access to over 23,000 health and community resources to seniors, caregivers, adults with disabilities and their families. Click the icon to get started.

Award-winning


	We are proud to announce that your Poquoson Public Library was honored with two statewide awards from the Virginia Public Library Director's Association (VPLDA): the 2011 Outstanding Children’s Program award for “There's More Than Books @ Your Library” and the 2011 Outstanding Programs for Seniors award for "Old Age...It's Not For Sissies". The Library also received one of the three 2011 Library of Virginia Mini-Grants to implement "If You Find Them...They Will Come", an early literacy outreach program for children.
