You Have a Voice!

6th through 12th graders, do you ever feel like no one cares what you think? Well, here at PPL we care! A group called the Teen Advisory Board meets regularly to plan and share ways to make your Teen Scene even better. Join your voice with ours!

Our fall meetings will run from 4:30 to 5:30 PM on the following Mondays:

September 20th: elect officers and discuss projects for the year
October 4th: make plans for our community outreach, Mackenzie's Walk, to be held Oct 9th @ PHS
November 1st: discuss the book, Gulliver's Travels
December 6th: collect hats, gloves and soup for the food pantry

Who we are
Established not only for the purpose of attracting young adults to the library, but also to give a structure to our participation so that we feel we have a place to fit in, the Teen Advisory Board gives teens a say in the selection of materials and activities as well as the responsibility of initiating and finishing projects of our own choosing. Meeting once a month, usually on the second Monday each month during the school year, we have chosen many service-related activities as well, including making cards for the residents of Dominion Village here in Poquoson, participating in the MacKenzie's 5K Run/Walk for MPS, and sponsoring a yearly bake sale to raise prize money for our annual poetry contest.
