Who we are
Established not only for the purpose of attracting young adults to the library, but also to give a structure to our participation so that we feel we have a place to fit in, the Teen Advisory Board gives teens a say in the selection of materials and activities as well as the responsibility of initiating and finishing projects of our own choosing. Meeting once a month, usually on the second Monday each month during the school year, we have chosen many service-related activities as well, including making cards for the residents of Dominion Village here in Poquoson, participating in the MacKenzie's 5K Run/Walk for MPS, and sponsoring a yearly bake sale to raise prize money for our annual poetry contest.
13th Annual Poetry Contest
April is National Poetry Month and the Teen Advisory Board is sponsoring its 13th Annual Poetry Contest. All ages, kindergarten through adult, are invited to participate. Submit one unsigned, original poem and mark your calendars for:
