Bug Daze!
Thursday, August 7th, 7:00-8:30 PM

Join us for this exciting carnival called Bug Daze! One of Virginia Tech's entomologists, hometown girl Meredith Cassell, will share some interesting "insect lore." Also Poquoson's own "Mosquito Man" will be here to share strange and interesting facts about our city's most infamous flying, whining, biting bug! Then we will make bugs...play with bugs...and even EAT bugs! Fun for the whole family! Pre-register at the Circulation Desk.
Flight of the Bumblebee
Thursday July 24th 2:00-3:30 PM

2nd-5th graders, swarm on into your library and learn all about bees! Are they too heavy to fly? Do they really dance? We will be "busy as bees" as we enjoy the music of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov's "Flight of the Bumblebee" and have fun crafting, gaming, and snacking on bees! Think you will be "bringing home a baby bumblebee?" Please pre-register at the Circulation Desk.
BEE Sure to Read
...with us! Buzz over to your library and join our summer reading program from June 16th through August 15th. As soon as school is out, check out books from our library. When you've read your first book, you're ready to register and record books on a reading log! If you have just completed 1st through 5th grade, you may join the Catch the Reading Bug Club. Pre-schoolers and kindergartners, the Read-to-Me Club is just for you. Don't let the summer fly by without catching the reading bug!
Wacky Wednesdays
June 18th - August 13th

Drop in anytime from 1:00-4:00 PM on Wednesdays during the Reading Program to "make and take" a fun craft! No registration is required.
Ants in Your Pants?
June 19th, July 17th, and August 14th at 2:00-3:30 PM

2nd-5th graders, get off that couch! Come jump and jive like you have "ants in your pants!" It's "DDR for Kids Days!" You've never seen such library ant-tics! Please pre-register at the Circulation Desk.
Creepy, Crawly Critters
June 16th-August 16th

Stop by the Circulation Desk every time you come to the library to see what critters are on display. Each week brings something new. Answer the special question and you could be a winner!
"Good Bug...Bad Bug"
Wednesday, July 30th, 11:00 AM

We're all a-buzz anticipating a visit from Dr. Richard Byles of the Virginia Air & Space Center! He will show us some bugs that are good to touch and some that are not. Then we'll go on a backyard safari on the Oxford Run Canal Trail to see what good creepy, crawly critters we can identify and catch with our homemade bug catchers. All ages, pre-register at the Circulation Desk.
Monday Movie Mornings
August 4th, 11th, and 18th, 10:00-Noon

Worm your way into the library in August for some buggy movies! A "compassionate spider," a "rebel buzzer," and some "circus warriors" will entertain us while we munch on un-bee-lievably good movie snacks! All ages, check for titles and pre-register at the Circulation Desk.
Buggin' Out
Celebration of Summer Readers
Tuesday, August 19th 10:00 AM

Isn't it funny how quickly a summer of reading "flies" by? We'll start our celebration by drawing for prizes for those who finished their reading logs, but...there will be something for everyone! We'll have our funnybone tickled by storyteller and comedian Steve Kissell and then "pig out" when the Poquoson Kiwanis Club treats us to a hot dog picnic! Don't miss out on this "sure-fire" great time!
