If you are a resident of Poquoson or the Tidewater area, you may apply for a library card by completing an application at the circulation desk or print out an online Library Card Application and bring it in to the library. You must present both a photo identification and proof of address. A driver's license will fulfill both requirements as long as the address printed on it is current.
A parent or legal guardian must sign the application for all children under the age of 18.
The first card is issued free of charge. There is a $2.00 fee for replacement cards. New patrons may check out 2 books and 1 videotape/DVD (or 3 books) on the first visit. After returning these items, patrons may have up to 50 items on a card at any one time, 6 of which may be videotapes/DVD's. Please note that a maximum of 3 books in a non-fiction subject area may be checked out at any one time.
