Besides providing reading materials in all medias, our trained staff can also assist you with Reference and Information services, children's story times, reading programs for children, teens, and adults, educational classes, informational workshops, and special events and celebrations.

We also serve you in other ways:

Cultural Center: The Library serves as a community center where exhibits, workshops, book talks, storytimes, poetry readings, musical performances, reading clubs, and other programs for adults and children are offered.

Wireless internet access, computers for public use and online ready reference are all available. We also provide popular DVD's, vidoes, books on CD and tape, and musical CDs.

Meeting Rooms: There are three meeting rooms available for public meetings of civic, cultural, or educational character, provided that the programs are open to the public and free of charge. If you would like to use one of our rooms, please come to the circulation desk to complete an application. Meeting rooms are available on a first come, first served basis. Please check with the library for availability.

Notary Service is available at no charge. Please call 868-3060 to make an appointment. Notaries Public are generally available during our normal hours of operation, including evenings and weekends.

A fax machine is available during library hours. The cost for sending is $4.00 for the first page and $1.00 for each additional page. Cost for receiving is $1.00 per page. The library fax number is (757)868-3106.

A copier is also available during library hours. Cost per page is $0.15. At this time our copier can only make one-sided, black-and-white copies.

Federal and State Tax forms are available seasonally at the reference desk. We also carry Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms and school code listings.

City government information is also available, including City Council minutes and Proposed Budget Plans.
