Friends of the Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) group that exists to focus public attention on libraries, stimulate the use of the library's services and facilities, and encourage gifts, endowments, and bequests to the library. Through various fund-raising projects, the Friends donated $12,385 to the library last year for programming and computer equipment.
Friends of the Poquoson Public Library was awarded the 2010 Friends of the Library Award by the Virginia Library Association for their continued support for the library and the community.
